Trisha signs up heroine centric film

“I will never sign up for work just for the sake of it, even if it means sitting at home,” says the talented actor.
Trisha was offered several women-centric roles ever since she potrayed Jessie in ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’.
Recently, a lesser-known Tamil producer offered the ravishing beauty over Rs.1 crore for a heroine-oriented film, but she refused to sign the film. “I survived in the industry for 10 years not only because of luck. The quality of films that I did mattered a lot. Even my flop films are those that I don’t regret doing. My policy has always been that I would never sign up for work, just for the sake of it -even if it means sitting at home for a couple of months,” Trisha had said in an earlier interview to DC.
Now, the grapevine has it that M.S. Raju, the ‘Mankatha’ star’s mentor in Tollywood has succeeded in convincing Trisha to essay a woman-centric role in an upcoming film. If close sources are to be believed, the ace producer/filmmaker was in Chennai recently to narrate the script. Buzz is that the story has been written only keeping Trisha in mind and it is a socio-fantasy film along the lines of ‘Arundhathi’. “It is very much a contemporary subject and the actress was so impressed that she signed on the dotted line at once,” an inside source reveals.
There are two more girls in the movie and a new hero would be cast as the male lead. It is to be noted that Trisha was a lucky mascot for M.S. Raju with his earlier Telugu hits ‘Varsham’ and ‘Nuvvuvasthanate Nennuvadhtanana’.
The film is expected to go on the floors early next year after Trisha completes her present assignments — Samar with Vishal, Bhoologam with Jayam Ravi and Endrendrum Punnagai with Jiiva.
