Yami Gautam
Yami Gautam, the model, turned popular actor after her Bollywood debut film Vicky Donor.The versatile Yami, is a stunning mix of beauty with brains, she had started working as a reality show host on NDTV before switching to do commercials which eventually paved way for her entry into Bollywood.
Now Yami Gautam is all set to enter Tamil films with Gauravam, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual directed by Radhamohan who had made films such Mozhi, Abhiyum Naanum and Payanam. Allu Sirish(brother of Allu Ajun makes debut), Prakashraj and Nasser play prominent roles in Gauravam which is produced by Prakashraj and has music by S. Thaman.
She has also been roped in to play Jai’s heroine in the film titled Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum which is being produced by ace director Gautham Menon. Prem Sai, who had assisted Prabhudeva in the making of some of his directorial venture, is debuting as director in Kollywood with Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum. Prem Sai is also simultaneously making the Telugu version of Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum titled Courier Boy Kalyan with Nitin and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
Talking about her Kollywood entry, Yami blushes and says “I’m doing Gauravam and Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum in Tamil at present. I play the lead roles in both these films and would continue to look for different roles and not for the run-of-the-mill stuff. I intend to concentrate more in South Indian films and in particular in Tamil films to earn the reputation as an actress of substance!”
