Heroines eager to play as Jyoti Singh Pandey, the Delhi gang-rape victim in films

Kollywood heroines have expressed their desire to play the lead role of the gang-rape victim if a film is made based on the heart-breaking New Delhi gang-rape incident.

The incident which shocked the entire nation On December 16th 2012 ,  when Jyoti Singh Pandey a female physiotherapy intern, and her male friend were lured into a private bus. After hitting the man with an iron rod, six monsters had raped the girl and later brutalized her further before dumping both of them on the roadside.
Jyothi, passed away after 13 days  at Singapore, but not before lighting the nation with widespread crime against women and questioning is the capital city safer for women.

Now Lakshmi Rai and Piaa Bajpai have volunteered to play the lead role (of the victim) if a film is made on the incident. Reports say efforts are on from certain quarters in Bollywood and Kollywood to make a film on the issue, apparently to cash in on the sentiments of the people. “I’m ready to star in the film as such a film is likely to create a social awareness throughout the State and elsewhere,” says the lanky Rai.

Joining the issue with Rai was Piaa, who says that “I’m willing to star in the lead role if a film is conceived based on the incident. I’m not even ready to discuss about my fee for the film!”
