Ajith-Suriya-During Asal Days
Director Vasanth has revealed that he had first offered actor Suriya to act in Aasai which would have been the actor’s debut film in Tamil if he had don the role. However, Suriya, who was working in a garment factory back then, was in no mood to make his foray into the entertainment industry and turned it down. Ultimately, the offer went to Ajith Kumar , and Aasai turned out to be one of one of the most significant hits of Thala Ajith early in his career.
Son of veteran actor Sivakumar, Suriya never wanted to be in films in the first place. He didn’t even want to be known as a great actor’s son and was leading a life away from limelight when Vasanth lured him into films with a second offer, this time as a parallel hero alongside the already a popular Vijay. Suriya was destined to don the grease paint and couldn’t say ‘no’ for the second time when Vasanth approached him.
Nerrukku Ner brought Suriya into films and alongside loyala college mate Vijays. From their there has been no looking back, In fact, it has been a U-turn for Suriya .
In every sense tamil cinema fans owe Vasanth for having got the talented Suriya to the industry!
