Karthik Subbaraj entered Kollywood in style with his directorial venture Pizza. The movie was produced on a shoestring budget and still managed to exceed expectations at the box office eventually being declared a superhit.
Regardless, the director is planning for his next. He says “At present there is this action movie that I am working on. We are only into the pre-production stages and are currently working on the screenplay. We have been scouting locations and will hopefully head for our first schedule this March.”
A close source mentioned that it will be a remake of Vijayakanth’s Oomai Vizhigal which had Vijayakanth, Arun Pandian, Karthik, Chandrasekhar & Jaishankar as part of the leading cast. Back in the days the movie turned out to be a good grosser at the box office and a thrilling response is expected from its remake too.
Meanwhile, the young director recently expressed his desire to be the director of the Hindi remake of Pizza if given a chance. Confirmation will soon arrive and it may turn out to be Karthiks ticket to Bollywood. The movie recently completed its dubbing in Telugu and is almost nearing its completion in Kannada too.
