Samantha is making good use of her popularity post her success with Neethane En Ponvasantham to spread awareness amongst women and girls about cervical cancer. Recently she spent her time with little girls for a day at the cervical cancer vaccination camp held at Kasturba Trust Government Hospital in Chilkur.
The doctors were happy that she came forward for spreading an important message to her fans. Doctor Manjula spoke to us on the same and cleared some myths about the infection. She says “Cervical cancer is caused by an infection with a virus called human papillomavirus or HPV. Most of the time, HPV infection disappears without treatment, sometimes it stays in the cells for years and eventually leads to cancer in some women. Getting the correct dosage of a HPV vaccine is the way to prevent the infection. Subsequent checks at regular intervals would ensure a cancer free life”
Samantha seconded her and disclosed “cervical cancer is the most common cancer leading to the most no of deaths in India but it can be prevented. Get vaccinated.” Moreover, the actress herself got vaccinated alongside many other girls at the hospital. We leave you with a picture of Samantha with the little ones.
