Kozhi Koovuthu Storyline
It is a love story set in a rural backdrop. The protagonist Kumaresan (Ashok) hails from a poor family earning his livelihood, selling chicken. He meets Tulasi (Shija Rose), daughter of an influential man Duraisingam (Naren) and falls in love with her.
Tulasi’s uncle Ayyanar (Bose Venkat), opposes her love affair with Kumaresan and at one point decides to get Kumaresan killed.
Also arranges Tulasi’s marriage with a relative of theirs. As the preparations for the wedding are on, a tragedy rocks the family. Do the lovers manage to unite in wedlock or not, forms the rest of the story.
Kozhi Koovuthu Script analysis
There isn’t anything very novel about the story. It is a routine love tale set in a village and there is the usual rich girl falling for poor boy and the opposition that follows.
The cliched story-line and predictable scenes mar the flow to a great extent and pulls down ‘Kozhi Koovudhu’ big time.
Kozhi Koovuthu Cast and crew Analysis
Ashok of Muruga and Pidichirukku fame was hoping to give a fillip to his career, which seems to have stalled for one reason or the other. And, he has done justice to his role in what happens to be an oft-repeated theme in Kollywood.
The heroine Shija Rose too acquits herself rather well. Rohini shines through the role of the hero’s mother along with Bose Venkat, who dons a negative character. The impact of Mayilsamy and Singamuthu in lighter roles is minimal.
